Safari Overview

On our 7-day safari expedition, you will have the opportunity to experience these magnificent creatures up close, as well as the chance to trek for chimpanzees in the flourishing Kibale Forest National Park. Additionally, the itinerary includes a visit to the breathtaking Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will encounter a wide variety of wildlife species, ensuring a truly unforgettable adventure through Uganda’s remarkable landscapes and ecosystems.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located approximately 500 km from Kampala, nestled at the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley. This stunning rainforest boasts a lush, misty atmosphere, characterized by steep, verdant mountains. The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including the critically endangered mountain gorillas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale National Park

After enjoying an early breakfast in Entebbe, we will set off on our journey westwards, taking in the stunning scenic views along the way as we head toward Fort Portal. This charming town, nestled in the shadows of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain ranges, offers a delightful stop for lunch.

Following our time in Fort Portal, we will embark on a visit to the picturesque Crater Lakes, where you can marvel at the breathtaking landscapes. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to the magnificent Kibale National Park. Here, we will settle in for the evening, enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at our reserved lodge, Isunga Lodge.

The thriving Kibale Forest is renowned for its incredible diversity and is considered the most popular destination for primates in East Africa. Today, we will embark on a guided nature walk led by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, where we will have the chance to encounter our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and many more fascinating species.

After this enriching experience, we will return to our lodge for a delightful lunch. In the afternoon, we will venture to Bigodi Swamp, a paradise for bird lovers. This scenic area is home to a wide variety of bird species, providing an excellent opportunity for birdwatching. After a fulfilling day of adventures, we will head back to our lodge, where you can unwind before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.

On this day, we will check out of the lodge and embark on a brief tour of Lake Nkuruba, where you’ll be treated to stunning views of the beautiful crater lakes surrounded by lush vegetation and gentle hills. After taking in the scenic beauty, we will enjoy a delightful lunch.

Following our lunch, we will set off towards the renowned Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon our arrival, we will embark on an evening game drive, where we can expect to encounter various wildlife, including warthogs, cape buffalo, waterbucks, and majestic African elephants. After a thrilling day of wildlife viewing, we will check in at the lodge for a restful night, enjoying a delicious dinner and comfortable accommodations.

Accommodation: Bush Lodge (Mid-range)

This beautiful morning begins with an exhilarating game drive to seek out various wildlife species. The early hours provide a fantastic opportunity for wildlife viewing, as animals tend to be more active during this time.

After our morning adventure, we will unwind in the stunning savannah while enjoying a delicious lunch. Later, we’ll set out for an afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. During this scenic boat ride, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and numerous other mammals, reptiles, and a wealth of bird species basking on the shores in the warm afternoon sun.

We will also visit the crater lakes, where you can take in the breathtaking views before we head back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Accommodation: Bush Lodge (mid-range)

On this day, we will bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park but not before embarking on a thrilling search for the famous tree-climbing lions in the renowned Ishasha sector. As we traverse through stunning landscapes, we will make our way to Bwindi National Park, where we will have the incredible opportunity to encounter the endangered mountain gorillas, one of the world’s most extraordinary primate species.

Accommodation: Bakiga Lodge (Luxury)

After breakfast, we will head to the park offices for an informative briefing, where we will be assigned to specific gorilla tracking families and receive essential tips on how to interact respectfully with nature during our close encounters with the mountain gorillas. Accompanied by an experienced tracker, we will bravely navigate through the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which may take anywhere from minutes to several hours as we trek through the dense vegetation in search of the majestic silverback and his troop.

Upon returning from this unforgettable experience in the rainforest, each participant will receive a gorilla tracking certificate as a memento of the adventure. Afterward, we will return to the lodge to refresh and recharge before embarking on a community walk to visit the Batwa Pygmies. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with the local people and gain deeper insights into their rich culture and traditional lifestyle.

After an exhilarating seven-day safari adventure in Uganda, we will check out of the lodge and begin our journey back to Entebbe. Our first stop will be in Mbarara Town, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. Following that, we will make our final stop at the Equator line. Here, you will have the opportunity to capture some memorable photos and shop for unique souvenirs or gifts to bring back for friends and family.
