Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa or Diani to Tsavo East National Park for Game Drives

Begin your safari with an early pick-up from Mombasa or Diani and embark on a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park, entering through the Bachuma Gate. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp or lodge, where you’ll arrive in time for lunch. The park is famous for its dust-red elephants, often seen rolling and playing in the cool waters of the Galana River, creating a vivid contrast against the blue waters. Tsavo East is also home to the longest lava flow in the world, the Yatta Plateau, and shelters a wide range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and lesser kudu. Tsavo East is steeped in history as well, known for the infamous “Man-Eaters of Tsavo”—two lions that terrorized railway workers during the late 19th century. In the afternoon, head out for another thrilling game drive until sunset, returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
